APIs are just tough.  If they were easier, they would be commands.

The first (or second) chapter in the API manual is the primer, and you need
to be a rocket scientist to get through it.  Read and re-read it.  Another
good technique is to take a look at code from others that use APIs.
Caution:  you can miscode them, and they sometimes work!

Could anyone suggest a good reference web site for using API's. I see soem
great ones referenced but wanted to see what else is
available  what parametrs to use, any systems requirements and then (if I'm
not asking for too much already ) examples...
