Here is another idea:

WRKITMLST (Work with Item on a list or Work with an Item List).

Clearly 'Item' is en expansion of PDM's LIB/OBJ/MBR, but including 'anything'.
Spoolfiles has been mentioned. What about 'jobs in MSGW', non-empty OUTQ's ...
(your imagination is the limit)

First parameter is 'type of itemlist' (spool files, jobs, objects and whatever
you might think upon). This is also the primary key to a softcoded table with
commands that will create a PF in QTEMP including theese items (Typically an
DSPxxx OUTPUT(*LIST) and a CPYSPLF but some lists can be created directly as a
physcal file). The system also has a record selection table (Pos n must be
character 'A' - 'Z', #, $), a table with column attributes (n charactesr from
pos x) and a table with valid user options per list type (e.g. WM = WRMMBRPDM
&2/&1 if the list type is some file list).

PS: I coded this and still have the source somewhere, but never polished it at
never started to get the real benefit from it.
