"Hay", Ray...! ;-)

Yeah, I liked Vern's idea best too.

But (assuming running interactive), another possibility You could mebbe try
is to use SNDPGMMSG to send a status message, although I haven't tried it in
this scenario. Just displays a message on line 24 rather than a screen,
however.

Something like:

SNDPGMMSG MSGF(QCPFMSG)
            MSGID(CPF9898)
MSGTXT('..message text ex: Please explain again, +
                   why was this message needed??...;-)')
            TOPGMQ(*EXT)
            MSGTYPE(*STATUS)

This is a close approximation of the command, anyhoo...

If this works, then send another message with blanks for MSGTXT to clear the
status message after WRKSPLF display.

Also, there ARE no lame questions.. (just lame requests from Users,
right?...;-) Still lookin' to meet the person who knows everything about a
400...!!! ;-D

My Wife was saying to Her Aunt (who just got first PC), actually just today:

"You aren't 'stupid' about computers..
..You just haven't been trained on 'em yet...!"

I liked that-un...:-D

| I like the display-the-report idea, but I'm supposed to show the WRKSPLF
| screen with the "report done" message.
