Perhaps this is a timing issue and other jobs are not ready yet.

Add an autostart job entry to your favorite subsystem that does a DLYJOB 
for a few minutes and then does the vary on.
Need details?

We are trying to figure out a way to startup automatically our internal
Netfinity Server after an IPL.  In QSTRUP, we have placed the VRYCFG 
*ON of this *NWS at the end.....but it will not vary-on.  Once the IPL
completes, we have to manually repeat this command to get it to boot.
 
Any suggestions??
