Hi Troy If you want a choice of Linux downloads, you probably can't get better than http://www.linuxiso.org They have the latest downloadable .iso (image) files for burning to CD for dozens of distributions. As to which version is recommended, there's quite a choice there too. Mandrake has usually been about the most newbie friendly, though the latest RedHat (8.0) is supposed to be very easy. The easiest option, though, is to try Knoppix[1]. As already mentioned in another post, Knoppix boots & runs a full (Debian based) Linux desktop direct from the CD. No installation/partitioning hassles etc, and it leaves your hard drive alone.
