I think I understand, but as long as the AS/400 has ftp services running, as
long as you can
log onto the AS/400, you can FTP with any PC connected via IP - 

I see the delima of not being able to "start" the job from the AS/400;
You should be able to just modify your .bat file to do the ftp - 
try it first from a "dos" command line to make sure all works,
that is they way I test out FTP servers the quickest.

       I would like to transfer a file from a server to an as/400 file.    I
currently do this by using strpccmd and run a  .bat  file that copies the
file to a directory on the IFS   and then use FTP to transfer it up to the
as/400 file.     I would like to copy the file in my CL program and not have
to run a .bat file.     I can not FTP directly from the other server as it
does not have the ftp service.
