Cyndi, I think what you are referring to is a parameter-marker. The iSeries parameter-marker is '?'. Information on parameter markers can be found in the manual 'DB2 UDB for iSeries SQL Reference' at the IBM Information Center. For example: UPDATE EMPLOYEE SET LASTNAME = TRANSLATE(CAST(?
