Yup, go to Steve Gibsons' site www.grc.com Steve has a great collection of
utilities to eradicate that sort of thing as well as some others. Another
thing would be AD-AWARE, not sure about thier url, but you can find thier
stuff on ZDNET.

 I believe they are now calling that kind of program a parasite, not a
virus
  It usually loads spyware and advertising.  Gloxter is one such program
