I did feel I'd picked a good example, yes.  I've learned that all the
problems we face in the business environment are present in this example.

But Joe... you answered a question I didn't ask.  I said "adding an address"


Where I was going with this example was i wanted to see which layer
determined that "Qu" was an invalid entry, and how it would respond.

This actually kind of a cool example. Let's say that you start out with a
standard customer file, with a customer name, address and all that jazz.
You might define a business entity to be "Address", which contains a bunch
of attributes, including street address, state/province, postal code, and so
on.

Your code is simple:

GetAddress(customer)
