This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- Is anyone else using the 3590-H11 Tape System yet ? Has anyone experienced any upgrade issues going from a 3590-B11 to a 3590-H11 ? We just put in an order to upgrade our B11 to an H11 for about $ 15k. It is our understanding the H11 will still read the 128 track tapes written on the B11. In order to write to the J Tapes, they will have to be reinitialized on the H11 to get the 384 track density. The new K Tapes are twice as long . For us, we should now be able to get at least 3 times the data on a J Tape, and 6 times the data on a K Tape uncompressed as compared with a J Tape Uncompressed on the B11.
