Our machine is set to NAMEFMT 1, and the initial directory is the user's
home directory, so you have to CD to a library before you can change to
NAMEFMT 0, if you want to.

The reason for the setup is to have an automatic redirect to a different
folder for each user. Of course, you have to have created the folder in the
/home directory, and the user profile home directory parm is set to
*USRPRF. (How *nixy can you get, eh?)

So, I guess I recommend putting all the statements you need into the script
- like QUOTE SITE NAM and CD and (BIN or ASC), etc., to be sure you have
the environment and behavior you need.

Our machines are generally set to namefmt 0, so I like to use:

cd library-name
bin
quote site na 1
put savefile.savf

The minimum amount of typing for the best of both worlds.

Cheers,

Martin.
