This is definitely one way to go. I personally don't like it because it
spreads little bits of my database encapsulatio in different places, and
handling some of the more advanced features (such as mapping disparate
databases) is a little trickier with triggers, but it can be done. The
advent of the READ trigger has finally given this particular architecture
the tools it needs.

Personally, I prefer client/server code, because it allows for cleaner
access to heterogeneous data, and it's been in my blood for over 20 years.
Passing data in messages between machines has been my forte for a long time,
and as open-minded as I am (enough with the guffaws out there!) I still like
my tried and true methods. Not only that, messages-based C/S is more
"platform independent", for those that insist on that particular attribute.
