Frank, I saved the following e-mail from Feb. 2001. It may help ... (I am pasting the message below). //////Message from Feb. 2001\\\\\\\\ When we went to V4R5 in September we started experiencing some of the same symptoms you described. Our users were being timed out and receiving telnet errors. I went into service tools and found many LIC logs with a description of Source/Sink 0701 0071. The eye-catcher inside the entry showed dead gateway (#TOIDGWM) processing was involved. After many months and phone calls to IBM support, we turned dead gateway processing off and haven't had a problem since. (knock on wood) It's not well documented (thank you IBM), but the parm IPRSBTIMO on the CHGTCPA is shipped at 120 seconds. TCP support had me change it to 86 and, voila, no more time outs. Hope this helps. Terry Luebeck ///////End of Message\\\\\\\\\ Todd Kidwell (Netstar) AS/400 System Administrator (313) 224-0578
