I would expect the results you have received; the serial number is
linked to the hardware platform and will not change.

If you have left your system names at the assigned defaults, the system
name of your primary partition will be Sxxxxxxx (where xxxxxxx is the
serial number).  Secondary partitions will be assigned values from
Axxxxxxx through Zxxxxxxx.  You can get these values using the RTVNETA
command with the SYSNAME parameter.  You can also change the system name
using the CHGNETA command, but regardless, they can provide a unique
identifier for the partition.
