Perhaps everyone already knows this trick, but just in case...when I head out of town for a seminar, I've noticed the hotel where seminars are held are usually too expensive for my budget. So I get the address of the hotel, plug it into Yahoo which pulls up a map: http://maps.yahoo.com/?&addr=1550+court+place&csz=denver,+co&country=us then click on the "Nearby Businesses: Hotels and Motels". This gives me a list of others nearby, which I start calling to get rates. For example, I see there's a Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, and a Hyatt Regency all within .2 miles of you. Another trick I've taken advantage of is paying a flat fee to become a travel agent. I don't book travel for others, I just take advantage of the discounts afforded travel agents (email me offline for details). ----- Original Message ----- From: "Al Barsa" <barsa@barsaconsulting.com> To: <midrange-l@midrange.com> Sent: Saturday, October 12, 2002 1:57 PM Subject: COMMON Hotels > > Hi, > > I just checked into The Adams Mark in Denver, and my first impression is > less than stellar.
