Have you tried using Code/400 instead of SEU? SEU, in my opinion, is
rather buggy.

Thanks. Makes sense.
I also got a problem with syntax checking switched on in SEU and using SQL
code. SEU hangs and I must abort SEU.
I hoped that V5R2 or PTF would solve the problem but looks like I have to
wait till V5R3.
How does Code400 handle SQLRPGLE editing?

The real problem is that the precompiler does not support free form. As a
result, it inserts the SQLDA in the wrong place and causes all sorts of
erroneous errors. I have played with adding dummy D-specs and C-specs in
order to work around this problem. Sometimes, I have been successful, but
many times not. For now, what I am doing is avoiding embedded SQL with
free form until the precompiler is improved. Latest rumour is V5R3.

When I use free-form text in SQLRPGLE and my argument spans over more than
1
line I get the following severity 20 message
