Are you confident that the file will be backed up properly if you migrate it
to the PC?  If not, I would leave it on the AS/400 and download it when you
need to run your mailmerge application.

I DON'T trust that the PC's in my environment are backed up consistently.  I
have a lot more faith in the integrity of the data on my AS/400 than I have
in the integrity of the data on my PC.
