Hector Let me recommend that you use CPYFRMIMPF (or CPYFRMSTMF) instead of CPYFRMPCD - the latter has to be in the old QDLS (folders) file system. It is slower, and you have many more options with CPYFRMIMPF. Also, you don't need to be in the system directory to use CPYFRMIMPF. Is this a file that already exists? Or are you able to create it? If the latter, I recommend comma-separated-variable (CSV) file. Then you just put the minus sign at the start of the number, between commas. Numeric conversions are automatic, whether zoned, packed, or binary. At 09:32 AM 10/9/02 -0500, you wrote:
This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I have a small dilemma. I need to import data from a PC File (Fixed Width) to a Physical File and I am using the CPYFRMPCD command in a CL. One of the fields is an amount that at times could be negative. Where should the negative sign be so that the sign is carried into the PF? Hector Sanchez
