Thanks for explaining me the difference. I made some experiences and when making ftp to a Windows server with DIRSTLYE set to UNIX style, the ls subcomand with -lrt options worked properly. I need to do the same for an OS/400 machine, so what I really need is to get information ordered by time, regardless of the remote machine type, so the question is: How to make a dir ordered by date to an OS/400 system? If you are on the Windows client, options are just ignored. If you are an iSeries client, an error is generated.
