When you do a GO PTF, and take the option 8 to apply your groups, cume's, etc, there is an option there that defaults to *SYS. *SYS should use what you have in CHGIPLA. *FULL should do full hardware diagnostics. I figure, what the heck, we only IPL every 8 weeks, and that is to apply ptf's. Why not do the *FULL and get the hardware testing. It's on a weekend, so if something dies IBM will rush to the rescue, and we'll have plenty of time. I can't see where this should adversely affect the applying of PTF's, (or IBM wouldn't have stuck it on the screen, right?). Anyone counter this?
