~~~Transfer Subroutine (FTS) to allow send/receive of files ~~~dynamically between ~~~systems WITHOUT having to set up SNADS and use SNDNETF, RCVNETF, etc. ~~~They now want to perform this functionality via the internet ~~~over a VPN ~~~connection. ~~~haven't heard a lot (either good or bad) about using MPTN. Just a thought but not an answer for sockets. My first try would be enable APPC over TCP (MPTN) and make no code changes. I understand what you said about; how well it works using MPTN. I can tell you that exactly what you described works well over TCP using frame relay or internet but I have not used VPN for it. Their is at least 1 (old) redbook describing these differences over TCP. SG24-2531-01 Mark Villa in Charleston SC
