I tend to agree it is not practical to have the OS change the time, I have had batch jobs running on windoze get messed up because it automatically adjusts the time - I have then had to work around the OS, which is not always convenient - I too prefer to KNOW when the clock changes so I can do it to fit my business needs, not the needs of some "nerdier" programmer than myself - and that would be pretty "nerdy". I do hope that IBM never puts that into place, and hope that other mainframe and other OS's do not ever put it into place, unless there is an override to not do it automatically - there are those out there who would rather be a conformist, then a take charge control freak such as myself (all tongue in cheek) just my 2cents (worth about 1/2 cent in todays market) Mark -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of Dare Sent: Monday, September 16, 2002 1:43 PM To: midrange-l@midrange.com Subject: Re: Daylight savings time Hey Scott, R u saying it is not PRATICAL to have this done at the system level by the OS?
