We are running TCP/IP on our AS/400, but a search of the extensive VB 4.0 documentation turns up nothing on "winsock" or "socket". I'll have a look at a couple of Visual Basic web sites too. The logical file suggestion is probably my best bet. I just have to devise a method for removing them and the members. Thanks, Chris. Donald R. ODBC doesn't really differentiate between LF and PF, so you should be able to get at your data that way. <clip> Another option would be to use sockets. If memory serves, VB4 enterprise will let you develop winsock clients. <clip> Scott Klement has an excellent tutorial on how to use sockets, which you can find here: http://klement.dstorm.net/rpg/socktut/ <clip>
