Any where between 20 to 100 depending upon the calculations. Now how would
this work?  I am curious to know.  I may not have time enough to work this
into the existing problem but perhaps, I can use it next time.

This may be a way around all the messing with the file:

Run a program that will delete all the records and have the file defined
to reuse deleted records?

Might do the trick for you.  How many records get put in the file at
each call?
