It would be much more reliable and straightforward to transfer the data directly between database systems, versus having to FTP and then import. We have just introduced a new integration product called Ambassador, which takes less than 1 week to learn and runs natively on the AS/400. Ambassador is XML based and can interoperate quickly with DB2/400, SQL Server, Oracle and most other database systems. There is no scripting language to learn. Everything is administered using graphical wizards. It has most of the features of popular EAI tools, but without the headaches and learning curve.
