I created a routine for a client after a similar thing happened to them. They had passed through to a 2nd system on the console. Another person went to the console wanting to shut down the current/local system and entered the command PWRDWNSYS. You guessed it. In a few minutes the people from the remote site were ringing the phones off the hook. I made a command placed in the syslibl ahead of QSYS named PWRDWNSYS. This called a CL pgm that put up a dspf that showed you the current system name and asked you to verify that you wanted to power down THIS system by having you enter the system name again. If they matched it would prompt the real QSYS command. If I remember I check the job status and only did this on interactive jobs, to allow a batch pwrdwnsys to run normally, important when applying PTFs. --- Douglas Hart - Sr. Consultant Certified IBM iSeries System Administrator mailto:dhart@twcny.rr.com
