I'm not sure (though I don't really know) that this is a problem.  Our
uses who run XP also get the PC name prefixed to their username when
accessing our Samba shares, and it doesn't trouble Samba at all.  It might
be that the recent version of Samba we run understands this XPism and that
Netserver does not.  But I haven't seen a problem with XP prepending the
PC name.
