David, I agree that some of our language has led to "feelings". We may have a vested interest in one technology, or another. But, for me, the screen shots added value to the discussion. And, although a GUI product may rely with a 5250 data stream, it has been useful to learn how extensible it might be, while having a lightweight footprint on the workstation. It would help me (and hopefully, others too) to better understand the role of a "repository", and where to store it. If stored on the server, then how does the client access it? If stored on the client, then how does the developer distribute it? In general, this list seems to be the right place to discuss 5250 emulation, GUI, and client-server technologies. Trevor and Paul have made a good point that the term "screen scraper" has suffered from negative press, which may not be justified.
