QDLS doesn't work. Neither does /QSYS.LIB. By that I mean *I* couldn't get them to work, and I've never heard corroborated reports of them working for others - I'd like to be corrected on that, though. When I have managed to get them mounted any attempt to access the share, even just an ls, results in a locked box for ten minutes or more until it runs out of resources :( The shares I do have working are directories off / - either standard ones like QOpenSys & /etc, or ones we've added. I tried to be sneaky when I thought, 'the AS/400 supports symlinks', but that didn't get me anywhere, as I couldn't link them to QDLS files or folders (or if I could they weren't accessible). > And dmesg shows this: > > nfs warning: mount version older than kernel With the 2.9y I get that one > nfs_get_root: getattr error = 5 > nfs_read_super: get root inode failed but not those. > I suppose I can go get an even older version of mount... Anything else > I could try (I already tried getting them to upgrade their AS/400)? I've ended up using ncftpget & ncftpput to deal with QDLS stuff. Fortunately our use of them is declining, mainly due to me pushing for a filesystem I can more easily work with ;) Things should be better with V5R1 as NetServer now (I believe) supports Linux, so there's an alternative to NFS, but that doesn't help either of us at present :( Regards, Martin -- martin@dbg400.net jamaro@firstlinux.net http://www.dbg400.net /"\ DBG/400 - DataBase Generation utilities - AS/400 / iSeries Open \ / Source free test environment tools and others (file/spool/misc) X Debian GNU/Linux | ASCII Ribbon Campaign against HTML mail & news / \
