Thanks for the prompt response.  I know Trevor - in fact, I spoke with him
last week.  DOH!  I remember him discussing briefly being the Newlook guru.
I'll give him a call and get more information.

I am currently evaluating the ASNA AVR product as one alternative solution.
So far, I am very impressed with it.  I have very little visual development
experience, but I feel like I can already write acceptable AVR code after 3
weeks of going through the tutorial and writing some prototype code for
demonstrations.

The biggest obstacle in using AVR, for one, is that they want to duplicate
the functionality of JDE sales order entry (P4211), which is a behemoth of
an RPG program.  That is why they are evaluating the screen-scraping
product, since it might require a large effort to put the functionality of
the JDE code into AVR programs whereas the screen scraper is poking data
into the JDE screens.

Another reason that they are leaning toward Transidiom is that they
purchased JWalk (which they are not currently using and don't plan to use),
and Seagull has offered to sell them Transidiom at half price...

I am interested in getting the contact information for your acquaintance
that has Seagull experience, if HE doesn't mind.

We can resell newlook as part of our Lansa partnership.  We have never tried
to sell it or use it, so I went to Trevor's session at
Lansa User Conference and was really impressed how well it works.

It has lots of API's that you can call from Visual Lansa or VB.
