OOh, this is interesting. The default output for STRQMQRY is *PRINT. It seems your Query/400 query has a database output. Someone mentioned using DLTSPLF - I recommend DLTSPLF QPQXPRTF SPLNBR(*LAST) immediately after the STRQMQRY command. Or, you could modify the Query to go to print, then make the STRQMQRY OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) OUTFILE(samelib/samefile) It'd be interesting to see what happens if you left the query as is and change the output type of the STRQMQRY - would it just do the outfile once?
