We have just recently setup a wireless network and have a Symbol handheld
running MochaSoft's TN5250 emulation. Works well but the device is only
used intermittently and consequently will power off between uses and then
loses network connection, and because of losing network connection also
loses connection to the /400. Occasionally, the disconnected job on the
/400 will not be ended before the Symbol user tries to reconnect to the
network and reestablish the telnet session. I would like to have a way to
detect a disconnected job (telnet session) and have the system end it
immediately. I'm sure this has been discussed before but all I can find in
the archives points me to "Scope Messages", and that doesn't seem to be the
answer to my problem, since this only let's me know when the job ends. Does
anyone have any suggestions? I've looked at the QDSCJOBITV system value but
I don't want to make a global change - just for specific jobs or users or
sessions.

Thanks,
Dave
