Vern: I still have an E04 that is happily running V2R3. It was the first AS/400 I bought back in 1991 (I think), when we were still running the business out of my basement. In the first 6 months the drive in it crashed and IBM replaced it under warrantee. In 11 years it has NEVER been down (except to move it twice). Yeah, I don't need it anymore, as I have several other boxes, but it is on our network (running one of the first incarnations of TCP/IP), and every once in a while, if I need to write a comm routine, I will do it on that box, cause if it will run there, it will run anywhere! It is a piece of nostalgia for me now. My first box, reminds me of when I first started my business. I am waiting for it to crash, and I will then put it out of its misery. It looks like an outcast among all the black box AS/400s in our computer room. We're growing old together! cjg Carl J.
