I've arrived. <g> I have now been the victim of a DOS attack. I had the high CPU utilization from SMTP that others have had. It was at 70% CPU utilization. I'm at V5R1 with latest cum, group PTFs, etc. Both PTFs regarding high SMTP CPU utilization were superseded on my AS/400, so I didn't know _what_ was going on. SMTP even crashed this AM. To make a long story short, we had (emphasis "had") an open relay. About 3pm yesterday some spammer used us to send his crud out. I could not send messages to the midrange mailing list this morning because we had been blacklisted on spamcop, which David uses to protect the list. If David had not been doing this, I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure out the problem. If you think it can't/won't happen to you, wake up. It's just a matter of time. Thanks, David. And sorry for wasting your time. I just want to run a simple food distribution business . . . -- Jeff Crosby Dilgard Frozen Foods, Inc. P.O. Box 13369 Ft.
