Nope.  I have simplified the code to this point:

       01 VENDR1.
          03  VR1.
            05  VNID   PIC X(6).
            05  VNNAME PIC X(30).

       Procedure Division.
           Exec SQL
                Insert into VendSmall
                Values(:VR1)
           End-exec.

The code above compiles.  Change the "Values" clause to Values(:VENDR1.VR1)
and it fails.  In the "real" program I need the qualification as there is
more than one VR1 entity.

I have tried as some suggested wrapping the definitions in a DECLARE block -
but it makes no difference.
