I would have picked *BOOTP. Since we don't use Netstations booting off
the iSeries anymore. But I do think we do some *DHCP.

But I get your point. Why use *ALL when if they wanted to do *ALL they
might have well entered ENDTCP?

Time to submit a DCR?

OK - how many people remember the Movie "Ghostbusters!"

I want EVERYONE to do the following - don't think about it, don't even
stop and read the remaining amount of words...

Cut & Paste this into a Telnet session to ALL of your AS/400's NOW!!!

CHGCMDDFT CMD(ENDTCPSVR) NEWDFT('SERVER(*DHCP)')

When you hit enter, have the satisfaction of NOT having someone mistake
the ENDTCPSVR command for the ENDPASTHR command... :)

If they DO mistake it, they bring down a relatively innocuous TCP/IP
service that can be re-started quickly, and doesn't bring down the WHOLE
user community!!

And PLEASE - IBM - STOP Defaulting DANGEROUS commands to *ALL without an
ALARM Bell going off @ the tube saying "Are YA BLOODY WELL Sure"
