V4R1 was first shipped on model 6XX.  Customers with 4xx/5xx hardware had
to upgrade.

Never heard ANY model mentioned on the OS/400 for Risc. I believe
that the software that stays with the hardware was release dependent.


That started with V4 on the 400/500 series and I have never seen
anything that changed that...
