It is possible to modify brad's program to handle this. You need to send
the username and password for the proxy server in the request header.
The hard part is getting a base64 encoder, you need this in order to
encode the password. The details needed for which headers need to be
sent are in RFC 2616.

I was using brad stones program called geturi to retrieve data out on
the
internet, but our network people installed a new proxy server a few
months
ago and killed my ability to use this tool.. Its the microsoft proxy
server
2.0, but the problems seems to resolve around the fact it does
password
authentication to our nt domain database. Appearantly our browser can
handle this ok, but geturi can't get by it. Has anyone else had a
socket
program that needs to get past a proxy similar to this?

Any idea, or if more info is needed please let me know...
