When I first got a LinkSys cable router, I had the same problem. Every few
minutes the session would drop. I exchanged it, same problem. I returned
it and bought a Netgear RT314 (out of desparation) and no longer have the
problem. I know, though, that others use LinkSys without trouble.

I also had a similar problem at a client site. Only there it was every
user. The problem was a bad hub. Replaced it and problem went away.

I don't think it has anything to do with the hostname or IP addr.

Hi Jim:
Not sure if you saw my last post, that when I connect via IP address rather
then name to my AS400 it does not time out. I have had an inactive session
connected now for about 6 hours. Still going thru the same linksys/DSL
connection I spelled out in a prior post.
This is too weird. Can anyone else out there verify or refute the idea that
connecting via a host name, rather than an IP address is a problem.
