I agree that basic tools should be part of the operating system and charged for appropriately until there are no more users. Any other operating systems any other way (other than a mainframe)? But, with IBM's new "greenstreak" promotion that has a 50% discount on 270s and 820s with green screen power (that does warm my heart!) I did the math and found a real nice price. Then I got our "business" partner's quote and found they had marked the IBM price up 7% on the hardware and software... I thought IBM gave margin to the resellers? When does anyone want to pay more than list or give the rebate back to the dealer? With partners like this who needs enemies! This is a very strange environment!
