Matt,

The documentation indicates that your target configuration is fully
supported by IBM.

Is this a good idea?  If it works and meets your business requirements,
then it strikes me as a good idea.  If you need the hardware upgrade
before you're ready to do the OS release upgrade, then I would move
ahead.
