I pulled 4.19 gig drives out of a 170 and put in a 620 no problem. And he had some 4.19 that where pulled out of a 2?? or 3?? (i think) and had these converted to fit in the 620. I have a couple of the brackets (no I do not want to sell them) See pictures at http://www.opensource400.org/images/Mvc-001s.jpg http://www.opensource400.org/images/Mvc-002s.jpg http://www.opensource400.org/images/Mvc-003s.jpg http://www.opensource400.org/images/Mvc-004s.jpg http://www.opensource400.org/images/Mvc-005s.jpg Some of the drives I have put in my 170 had an angle bracket on the side like in the picture and some have been start on the side. I also ordered 6713 from IBM for a 170 and it was in a huge case, I found out they are called 6813 for the 170, even if everything says it is a 6713. I would take one of the 2 gigs apart first, they can not be used in a 170 and see what the drive looks like. And have him send a couple of pictures of the kits to see if they will fit those drives. The 2 gigs would work in the 620 and would of fit the kits, but because of raid and space in the 620 they where not put in to the 620. This 620 had the expansion on it. And see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/pubs/html/as400/v4r5/ic2924/v4r5hwpdf/pdf/eng68074.pdf when you are ready to put them in the 170. I am not saying it will work, just what I have experienced. And let me know how it works out.
