Tom, There are two forms of secure FTP: FTP that uses SSL and Secure FTP that is a part of Secure Shell (SSH). You will need to know what the remote FTP server is using. Secure Shell is a UNIX implementation, but there are implementations on other platforms. SSL FTP is implemented on Windows and other platforms. They are different in how they work. SSL FTP is supported in the AS/400 FTP server in V5R1. It will be supported in the FTP client in V5R2. In both cases you use DCM to manage certificates. DCM has its own certificate store so you may not need to go to Verisign for a certificate. Discuss this with the remote FTP server administrator. Secure Shell is not presently implemented on the AS/400. Some people I know are predicting it will be soon. In the mean time you can use a UNIX or Linux platform to do this.
