I think the problem with DIY password synchro is finding all the d@%n PWL files and other security resources (MDC, authority lists, etc) that Windows networking uses. I think tools like SMS and the like may also be necessary to distribute policies and whatnot..... I'd really hate to tackle this beast. FWIW, I know very little about managing Windows networking and security.
