I'd start journaling on the file in question.  That will tell you exactly
what is doing the update and when.

I have never heard of a virus on an AS400.  Anyone?

I have a customer with a changing item#/descr/price on an invoice.  The
software developer said it was electrons changing the data in the AS400 or
the printer was malfunctioning.  Sounds like a bug to me.
