Hi Matthias

We have been using the HP Jetdirect 500x (3 port) for the last 6 months.
Configured & worked first time, no problems since.

If you want our device descriptions for the printers let me know off
list.

Good luck

Subject: Jetdirect & *LAN printer descriptions

Hi,

I have a few IBM 4226 line printers which I would like to attach via
ethernet. Preferably I would like to use device descriptions for better
control, rather than remote OUTQ's. If I was to attach these printers
via a HP Jetdirect 500x box (supports 3 printers), would this work? Or
are there better alternatives to the HP Jetdirect box?

Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Matthias
