Have you considered wrkjobscde command? The ipl startup job does run in batch, and is a batch mode, you may have to make some adjustments to attach these other jobs to the routine. I would suggest that the qstrup job submitters these other jobs, as you do not want to set this as a top down c/l, and risk locking up the start up job, this of course depends on how you organize the c/l and what your requirements are. I have normally only put things in to start writers, and special subsystems/jobs that require parms to start the way I want them, examples are the http server, the ftp server, the smtp service... I also tend to clear out messages, release jobq's, and send an e-mail off to state that the IPL is complete. Since your mail reader does not understand this format, some or all of this message may not be legible. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] We have several "self-submit-to-batch" programs that we are considering adding to the startup program. Is the startup program considered batch or interactive? Either from an IPL or coming out of restricted state. I don't want to run into the situation that the startup program is batch, then our job will "hang up" the startup program.
