I believe that the author has stopped supporting it but he may have something else available now. Anyway the product consisted of a server process that ran on a windows box, and a client that could run anywhere. It used a simple XML based protocol to send a SQL statement to the windows server process, and then receive the results. I was able to write a RPG client program but it comes with are several clients including one in PERL. If you can find it this product works great. I wouldn't want to use it for transferring large amounts of data but 10-100 records at a time shouldn't be a problem. I used it to view information from a windows based helpdesk on the 400. (An interesting thing I found out about the word "helpdesk" is that at least one spell checker thinks that it is an incorrect spelling and suggests "helpless" as the correct spelling.)
