So you have a socket server running on the AS400 that you want to connect
to? What are you trying to connect from, a PC? Another AS400? Within the
same AS400? Generally I use telnet to ip address / port# for testing
connectivity.

Subject: Sockets

Hello all,

        I have a question on Sockets (TCP/IP) and the AS/400. I have a
program that uses sockets to connect to a job on the AS/400 and communicate
with it. Unfortunately, I have been unable to get this to work.

What I am looking for is some help in setting up a very simple socket
program so that I can test connectivity to our AS/400 and determine whether
the problem is the network setup of the AS/400 or the program itself.

Any help in steering me to the right area where I can find sample socket
programs would be greatly appreciated.
