Locally, none.  Remotely, you will need to upgrade you routers to handle SNA
traffic.  I don't think that the Perle can run pure TCP/IP.  SNA is very
chatty and burned a lot of band width.  TCP/IP doesn't have the recovery of
SNA.  We were running a Perle 494e running *anynw controllers on the 400
under 4.4  Worked great.

I have a Perle 494e controller connected to our company ethernet network.
The controller is used to connect 6 devices (5 displays and 1 printer).
The Perle controller is configures to use SNA protocal. I have been asked
to look at converting the controller to use TCPIP protocol.

My question is: what benefits will there be if I convert the controller to
use TCPIP protocal.
